The Academy is Mishcon de Reya’s in-house place of learning, our driver for growth and a platform for thought leadership.

Here we will bring together urgent societal issues and industry experts to deliver innovative thought leadership on issues that matter to us and to our clients.

The United Kingdom European Union membership referendum was held on 24 June 2016. The result: the UK was to leave the EU. Nine months later, in April 2017, Article 50 was triggered and the process officially began. At Mishcon de Reya, we are working with clients to provide them and their businesses with comprehensive advice on the challenges and opportunities arising out of Brexit as well as sharing informed commentary on the issues that matter most to them.

In Defence of Truth

In 2016 the Oxford English Dictionaries named adjective post-truth as their word of the year. The definition: ‘relating to or denoting circumstances in which objective facts are less influential in shaping public opinion than appeals to emotion and personal belief‘.

As lawyers, we place a high value on truth and factual certainty. It is our intention to shine a light on the post-truth landscape, finding projects and partnerships which seek not only to find the truth, but to defend it.

Law and the Arts

At a time when artistic freedom is facing increasing censorship in many countries across the world, we want to champion art and literature and the ways in which it relates to the law.

We will achieve this through sponsorships and partnerships with art organisations and through the work of our Deputy Chairman Anthony Julius, who has joined University College London as the inaugural Chair in Law and the Arts.

Mishcon Talks

At Mishcon de Reya, we are privileged to sit alongside our clients as a trusted advisor and to advocate for them on the things that matter. Here you will find a selection of films that share our perspective on contemporary issues within business, politics and the wider national and international community.
